Following its local introduction last month, the Nissan Leaf is now being offered in the Mindanao region as the Nissan in the Philippines has made it available through Tagum City and Matina dealerships.
The latest addition to the dealerships offers the world's first mass market electric vehicle. The other facilities that retail the much-anticipated car are Nissan Mantrade Makati, Nissan Otis, and Nissan Cebu South-V. Rama in partnership with Gateway Motors Group as the sole distributor of the Nissan Leaf in the country.
Just like the abovementioned dealerships, Nissan Tagum and the Nissan Matina have specialized equipment and are staffed by certified and trained experts to serve Nissan Leaf customers. To support and further encourage consumers to get the EV model, these two dealerships have charging stations that can fully charge the Leaf in 40 to 60 minutes. This is free for Leaf owners.
Nissan’s latest EV facilities in Davao mean it has covered Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. But Nissan is not done yet. During the launch of Leaf last May, the company announced that it will be opening up to seven dealerships within the year.
Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima expressed positivity about the company's electrification efforts for the country.
"We are committed in making our EV technology more accessible to more areas in the Philippines, from Luzon, to Visayas and Mindanao. With the reach of our EV dealerships and the support of our dedicated and passionate personnel, we are off to an optimistic start for this new chapter in the company's electrification strategy," he was quoted saying.
Gateway Motors Group Chairman Markane Goho expressed pride in being the first dealership group that will carry the Nissan Leaf.
"We are excited to be part of this EV journey with Nissan. We share their vision of a smarter, sustainable, and exciting future of mobility, and honored to be a pioneer EV dealership group in the country," Goho said.
Nissan's Tagum EV dealership is located along the national highway in Brgy. Canocotan in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, while its Matina EV dealership is located in MacArthur Highway, Brgy. Ma-a, Davao City.
The Nissan Leaf is priced at ₱2.798 million and is packaged with a three-year or 100,000 kilometers vehicle warranty and an eight-year or first 160,000 kilometers battery warranty, whichever comes first.
