Nissan has continuously shown that it has a heart by extending a helping hand anew to the medical frontliners at the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine (RITM).
Those risking their lives at the said medical facility received some 1,100 meals from Nissan in the Philippines, as part of the Japanese automaker’s commitment to enrich Filipino lives, especially during this time of pandemic.
Members of the Nissan Urvan Pilipinas supported the local arm’s initiative by helping deliver the meals to RITM, which were distributed to the staff, doctors, nurses, and medical technicians who handle the COVID-19 testing.
Nissan in the Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima said that the outreach program is their way to somehow lighten up the situation for the health workers.
“Nissan’s vision of enriching people’s lives is a commitment to our customers and our communities. We aim to contribute in the fight against the pandemic in every way we can, from ensuring the health of our people and customers in our workplaces, to supporting our medical frontliners through this donation,” Najima said.
Such act was not the first for Nissan. Last June, the local arm for the Japanese automaker donated and distributed meals to medical frontliners at various medical centers in Metro Manila.
Aside from that, the Nissan dealerships themselves made similar efforts to help hospitals within their area, which was shown in a tribute video honoring the dedication and sacrifices of the frontliners, which was posted on Nissan Philippines' social media accounts.
The tribute video also features the song “Hibla ng Alaala” written by Nissan in the Philippines General Manager for Sales Rolando Navarro.
