Nissan Juke vs. other crossovers in the same price point
The Nissan Juke is the Japanese automaker’s entry into the local subcompact crossover scene. Many loved the Nissan bug because of its unique and distinctive looks and impressive performance.
When Nissan still offered the Juke locally, it featured a three-part lighting setup with the DRL at the top, the halogen projector headlamps at the middle, and fog lamps at the bottom. The lighting equipment at the front end flanked its unique-looking grille that featured Nissan’s V-Motion character design.
Inside it had fabric seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 2DIN display audio.
Power comes from a 1.6-liter engine mated to a CVT which produces 114 horses and 154Nm of torque.
Nissan silently pulled the Juke from its lineup but you can still find used Nissan Juke units in the second-hand car market. Its main advantage over other vehicles in this list is its larger displacement and its reliable Japanese heritage.
They sell for about P580,000 to P780,000.
If you’re looking for alternatives within the same price point, here are other subcompact crossovers you might want to look at.
Kia Stonic (LX MT)
Those looking for a budget-friendly crossover SUV will find a good candidate in the Kia Stonic.
Like the aforementioned Juke, the Kia Stonic features projector-type halogen headlamps, fog lamps, and rear combination lamps.
Inside, however, it offers a more modern-looking interior with an instrument panel with a 3.5-inch TFT LCD multifunctional display and an eight-inch touchscreen audio system.
Under the hood is a 1.4-liter Kappa Dual CVVT engine mated to a five-speed manual that produces a maximum power output of 93 horses and 132Nm of torque.
A brand-new Kia Stonic LX MT is priced at P735,000.
MG ZS (MT Style)
For a little over the used Juke’s price point, you get halogen projector headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps, tail lights in Polaris design.
Inside, it features fabric seats, a urethane steering wheel, and a smart radio with Bluetooth and MP3 player.
It’s powered by a 1.5-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The MG ZS MT Style has a sticker price of P818,888.
