Nissan is on a mission to search for the fastest virtual racers yet again. The Japanese automaker has
a new e-racing program that gives thousands of PlayStation gamers the chance to compete in an official FIA championship.
Of note, this year's format is different from the usual GT Academy that we've become accustomed to. The pool of the new virtual racers will come from the top Nissan drivers in the
FIA-certified Gran Turismo Manufacturers Series Championship that's conducted on the new Gran Turismo Sport PlayStation game.
It features two divisions--
Nissan GT Sport Cup-Global and
Nissan GT Sport Cup-Europe. The
Nissan GT Sport Cup-Global division includes the following regions: the Americas, Asia/Oceania, and Middle East. The fastest virtual racers per region will win a trip to the NISMO Festival at the Fuji International Speedway in Japan. They will also get the chance to visit the Polyphony Digital's headquarters, the team behind the
Gran Turismo video game, in Tokyo.

On the other hand, the 12 fastest virtual racers from
Nissan GT Sport Cup-Europe will get the chance to see the final round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in Barcelona, Spain. The top virtual racer from Europe will be sent to the Nissan Training Camp at Silverstone Circuit.
