Filipinos love pickup trucks. We use them mainly for family and business use. That is why when we talk about innovation, reliability and quality in the pickup segment, the brand Nissan is the first to pop into our minds.
At the recent launch of the next-gen Nissan NP300 Navara, Toti Zara, President and Managing Director of Nissan Philippines, Inc, said, “Trucks are definitely tough, that is a given, but what sets us apart, is that we redefined "tough" and we equipped it with innovation that makes it smart. The all-new NP300 Navara is the truck that will make you proud no matter what the situation, be it a rough road drive or a relaxed cruise in the city.”
“Nissan pickups are not just vehicles, they are the lifeblood of communities, and we are catering to that need by improving the much-loved pick-up,” adds Zara.
WORK and PLAY
For 2015, the Nissan NP300 Navara announces very distinct signature features like boomerang-shaped LED Daytime Running Headlamps and a “V-motion” motif that flows from the grille and into the hood extending through the front fender. The doors, on the other hand, have dynamic convex and concave surfaces coupled with the rear spoiler for enhanced aerodynamics which exude a bold and robust look at any angle.
Inside, the Navara’s dashboard has been styled to feature a gentle sweep from the center panel to the door side with 3-dimensional rich sections offering a feeling of spaciousness. It is furnished with convenient and functional trays that serve as storage spaces for personal belongings and electronic devices. The Audio System also comes with 6-speaker, CD, MP3 and iPod connectivity and also serves as a convenient visual monitor for the rear camera when backing up.
ONE TOUGH TRUCK
At the heart of this mammoth truck is a 2.5-liter DOHC in-line 4-cylinder variable geometry system (VGS) diesel engine that brings out a beast of power having the highest power output per displacement in its segment. The top-of-the-line (4x4 variant) boasts 190 ps power and 450 Nm torque, while the standard (4x2 variant) punches in 163 ps power and 403 Nm torque.
Revving up this smart pick-up truck is another first-in segment feature- a 7-speed automatic sport transmission which provides low fuel consumption at low speeds as well as better acceleration, an expanded gear ratio for a wider range of speeds, and smooth acceleration and shifting. The same transmission is also used in Nissan sport models like the 370Z sports coupe, among others. On the other hand, the 6-speed manual transmission features enhanced fuel efficiency while its optimized shift stroke makes for quick and effortless gear changes.
Adding safety and security without sacrificing performance while on the road, the NP300 Navara also includes the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) system along with ABLS (Active Brake Limited Slip), HSA (Hill Start Assist) and HDC (Hill Descent Control) and a Traction Control System. The all-new NP300 Navara is available in Savanna Orange, Galaxy Black, Brilliant Silver and Alpine White.
