Nissan PH Re-Announces Takata Airbag Recall
Nissan is joining its fellow Japanese car manufacturers in re-urging customers to bring in their vehicles and have their Takata airbag replaced. Launched in 2015, the service campaign aims to prevent possible mishaps that the potentially defective airbags could induce.
Both Toyota and Honda made similar calls to their customers in the last few months. Nissan customers can have their Takata airbags replaced at their preferred dealership at no extra charge.
The Takata airbag replacement campaign seeks to address selected Nissan vehicles in the country that came installed with the faulty airbags. Below is a list of the affected models, along with the production year.
- Nissan Grand Livina (2008-2014)
- Nissan Navara (2007-2015)
- Nissan Frontier (2003-2007)
- Nissan Teana (2006-2007)
- Nissan X-Trail (2003-2014)
- Nissan Patrol Super Safari (2003- 2017)
Customers with the aforementioned models are encouraged to visit the Nissan website at www.nissan.ph, select the 'Owners' tab, click on 'Service Campaign,' and input their Vehicle Identification Number or Chassis number to determine if their vehicle is affected by the issue. Affected customers are advised to call the 24/7 Nissan Customer Assistance Center (NCAC) hotline at (02) 403-65-93 or 0927-600-9557 (Globe), or visit an authorized Nissan Dealership nearest them.
