Nissan in the Philippines has officially revealed the latest iteration of its midsize sports utility vehicle offering, the Terra, to the Philippine market.
Following the introduction of the same model in the Thailand market, Nissan has announced that the new Terra is now available locally.
To note, the outgoing version was introduced here in May 2018, following its global debut in China.
“The new Nissan Terra is a smart and reliable family SUV that gives you and your loved ones confidence, comfort, control, safety, and peace of mind. We took the well-known all-terrain toughness and capabilities from Nissan’s 70 years of SUV heritage, and added the latest technologies, to turn the new Terra into the perfect partner for sharing experiences with your family and loved ones,” Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima said.
A true-blue off-roader, the updated Nissan Terra is set to compete in a hotly contested category with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Ford Everest Isuzu mu-X (which will have its latest version revealed later this month), among others.
The new Nissan Terra now wears a redesigned front fascia with the front grille bearing the new Nissan V-Motion pattern and the segment-leading quad LED projector with auto-leveling headlamps, making it look more like the bigger Nissan Patrol. The tail lamps have also been restyled to match the new shark fin antenna and spoiler design.
The dashboard of the new Nissan Terra has also been remodeled for a more modern and upscale look. Aside from that, this vehicle has two-tone black and burgundy leather interior for the upper-tier varieties (black interior color for the lower two variants) and the eight-speaker Bose Premium Sound System paired to its nine-inch infotainment display that is Apple Carplay and Android Auto-ready.
Drivers will get to enjoy the new high-contrast seven-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display that is present with all the variants of the new Nissan Terra while the middle and third-row passenger can watch movies via the 11-inch flip-down rear monitor.
The new Nissan Terra sports D-shape steering wheel, a shorter shift knob and center console design to match its athletic ability.
Meanwhile, the new Nissan Terra has carried over the Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that are already available in the current generation namely the Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligent Rear View Mirror and adding the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Further, the Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection now comes with an off-road monitor for the VL 4x4 variant, along with the segment-first Intelligent Driver Alertness that alerts the driver if a break behind the wheel is needed.
Coming in four variants, the pricing for the new Nissan Terra are as follows:
- EL 4x2 MT: P1.649 million
- VE 4x2 AT: P1829 million
- VL4x2 AT: P1.999 million
- VL 4x4 AT: P2.339 million
The new Nissan Terra is offered in Nebula Metallic Red, Forged Metallic Copper, Aspen Pearl White, Lunar Metallic Gray, Brilliant Silver, and Galaxy Black. An additional P15,000 will be added to the price of the Aspen White color option.
The new Nissan Terra is retailed with a five-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, whichever comes first.
