Nissan PH revives Livina nameplate

After launching the Kicks e-Power last month, Nissan Philippines reintroduced the Livina nameplate to compete in the country’s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) segment where its considered twin from another brand is dominating.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many variants does the all-new Nissan Livina have?

Nissan Philippines is offering the all-new Livina in four trims.
  • What powers the all-new Nissan Livina?

The all-new Nissan Livina is equipped with a 1.5 liter double overhead cam engine mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
  • Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) has officially launched the all-new Livina to go against the likes of the Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota’s Avanza and Rush, as well as the Mitsubishi Xpander (which is the country’s best-selling MPV model).

NPI President Juan Manuel Hoyos expressed confidence in the all-new Livina, saying that it is a “modern and practical MPV that first-time families and first-time car buyers will appreciate and trust.”

“As part of Nissan’s transformation plan, we hope to reach more customers through this exciting offering to this competitive and fast-growing segment,” he added.

To note, the aforementioned model — alongside the Serena — was launched in Indonesia back in 2019.

Since it is basically a rebadged offering (given the notable similarities that can be found with its direct competitor), the all-new Livina’s distinct aesthetic highlight is the V-Motion grille in the front that is seen on every new Nissan model.

The rear tail lights, rear spoiler (with stop lamps), the side profile and its wheels all sport familiar design elements.

Meanwhile, the top-of the-line option features silver accents while the rest come with black.

Inside, the occupants will be welcomed by familiar components: the dashboard and center island in between the front seats are the same as those found in its sibling in allied brand Mitsubishi.

Speaking of seats, the upper two trims of the all-new Nissan Livina come with six-way manual adjustable driver seats with fold and tumble seats for the middle and third rows.

The top-tier variation of the all-new Nissan Livina is equipped with keyless entry system, push button engine start and stop, dial-type air conditioning, seven-inch touchscreen display with audio and handsfree phone control, and multiple charging and connectivity ports at the center console. It is also fitted with black leather material seats, leather detailed steering wheel (with tilt-and-telescopic function), 12 cup holders, and multiple storage compartments all around the cabin.

Just like the new Mitsubishi Xpander, the all-new Nissan Livina is powered by a 1.5 double overhead cam (DOHC) engine with a maximum power output of 103.5 horsepower (hp) and 141 Nm of torque. The power mill is also matched to a four-speed automatic and five-speed manual gearbox.

Further, the all-new Livina has the Nissan Intelligent Mobility and numerous safety features that include Hill Start Assist feature, reverse camera, airbags, anti-lock braking system, vehicle dynamic control, traction control system, and parking sensors.

Moreover, the crème-dela-crème version of the all-new Livina is packaged with a five-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty (whichever comes first). NPI also said that the vehicle costs 30 percent less to maintain compared with other MPV models that are in the market.

NPI General Manager for Communications Dax Avenido told Carmudi Philippines that dealerships are available on taking orders of the all-new Nissan Livina already and will be releasing the units by September 15.

Relatedly, the all-new Nissan Livina is expected to grace the upcoming 8th Philippine International Motor Show on September 15-18, alongside the recently-revealed unique electric vehicle Kicks e-Power.
