Nissan has announced the pricing of its highly anticipated sports car, the 2023 Nissan Z. According to the US arm of the Japanese automotive brand, the latest iteration of its “attainable dream car” will come in three variants. The base model, Z Coupe Sport, is priced at US$39,990. It is followed by the Z Coupe Performance, priced at US$49,990, and then the range-topping model, Z Coupe Proto Spec, priced at US$52,990.
“The Nissan Z is our company's heart and soul, bringing sports car design, performance, and excitement to a broad range of buyers, starting with the introduction of the first generation more than 50 years ago. With a starting MSRP of less than US$40,000, this latest version is ready to create a whole new generation of Nissan Z fans when it comes to market this summer,” said Nissan US Marketing and Sales Senior Vice President Michael Colleran.
All of the aforementioned variants will be powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 400 horses and can either be mated to a six-speed manual slushbox or a nine-speed automatic tranny with paddle shifters.
Outside, the 2023 Nissan Z features a fresh and sleek exterior design with a silhouette that communicates respect to its lineage with its long hood and short deck. It’s complemented by an interior that boasts a driver-centric cockpit that takes inspiration from past Z generations. The cockpit seamlessly combines the traditional three analog pod gauges with modern amenities like a 12.3-inch customizable racing-inspired TFT meter and an available nine-inch touchscreen display.
The range-topping model comes with a special plaque, as well as exclusive interior and exterior features, all paying homage to the Z Proto launched in 2020. The Z Coupe Proto Spec edition will only be limited to 240 units in the US. The 2023 Nissan Z will roll out in US dealerships sometime in the summer of 2022 (from June to September).
