KEY TAKEAWAYS
When will the Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko campaign for the upcoming holidays happen?
The campaign is from December 20 to January 3, 2022.Why was the program activated?
This is to ensure the safety and convenience of motorists. The tollway operator started beefing up its operations from yesterday (December 20, 2021) until January 3 next year as part of its “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” (SMSK) motorist assistance program.
For the aforementioned period, the NLEX Corporation will field 1,200 patrol crews, traffic marshals, security teams, and toll lane personnel to assist motorists and ensure efficient traffic flow.
“As always, we are committed to keep our traffic flowing smoothly so our motorists will get to their destinations quickly, safely, and comfortably,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista was quoted as saying.
High volume of traffic is expected particularly in Balintawak, Mindanao, Karuhatan, Bocaue, San Simon, San Fernando, Tarlac, and Tipo. In line with the company’s traffic management teams will closely monitor the said locations.
To ensure immediate deployment in case of emergencies, NLEX Corporation will be placing emergency medical services and incident response teams at strategic locations.
Unless safety repairs are necessary, construction and lane closures along the whole stretch of North Luzon Expressway-Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (NLEX-SCTEX) will be suspended until January 3 2022.
From December 24, 6AM to December 27, 6am and from January 1 6AM to January 3, 6AM, motorists will be given free towing services for Class 1 (light vehicles) to the nearest exit.
Further, the NLEX Corporation is encouraging motorists to use RFID for faster and safer transactions. “Those who have no RFID sticker may have it installed for free in any of the Easytrip installation sites and just have to pay the initial load. Existing RFID users are advised to ensure that they have enough load, while those having concerns should have their sticker checked at the nearest Easytrip station,” the tollway company explained. For the complete list of installation sites and reloading options, motorists may visit the Easytrip website: www.easytrip.ph.
Meanwhile, those who opt to pay in cash are reminded to always take the rightmost lanes at the toll plazas and observe courtesy by not skipping the line.
The tollway operator also said that motorists should maintain proper braking distance and follow traffic rules and regulations for everyone’s safety. Aside from that, NLEX Corporation said that its speed and lane management teams will be on heightened alert to enforce traffic discipline.
Traffic advisories will be relayed to motorists via regular updates on NLEX Corporation’s social media accounts. For inquiries or other concerns, motorists may also call the NLEX-SCTEX hotline at 1-35000.
