NLEX Corp. sends aid to typhoon-hit Visayas, Christmas packs to host communities
Tollway operator NLEX Corporation has recently donated goods and construction materials amounting to P1.5 million to areas in Southern Leyte and Cebu ravaged by Typhoon Odette (international name Rai).

Aside from those, the company also provided P500,000 worth of relief packs to the local government units of Cebu and Cordova.
The NLEX Road Warriors also contributed by donating their Christmas Party budget amounting to P100,000 to Alagang Kapatid Foundation’s relief efforts for the communities affected by the recent calamity.
Maasin, Southern Leyte Mayor Nacional Mercado expressed his gratitude over the received donations. “These much-needed support will surely help the Maasinhons withstand these trying times,” he was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the 350 Christmas packages were also distributed to members of host communities in Quezon City, Caloocan City, Valenzuela City, and Pampanga.
150 Noche Buena packs were given to Tullahan River volunteer cleaners while 200 more were handed over to Aeta families from Porac, Pampanga as part of the company’s yearly initiative and the MVP Group’s “Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko” campaign.
The tollway company also organized a company-wide “Toys for Tots” project where employees may donate toys for children in Bulacan orphanages.
“Amidst the holiday rush, we would like to give back and be a channel of blessing to others. This way, we can somehow alleviate the burdens of our fellowmen who are going through difficult times,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi Bautista said in a statement.
“Through the years, NLEX Corporation has always been committed to assist those in need. It is at the forefront of helping communities especially during calamities — ensuring that immediate, appropriate, and efficient assistance is extended to them,” the tollway operator concluded.
