“Over the past seven years, we have completed many enhancement projects that strengthened our commitment to deliver quality service to our motorists,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi Bautista said.
He cited that amid the challenges and even during the height of the pandemic, the company has continuously implemented projects. The improvement includes roads, bridges, traffic devices, roadway lights, signs, pavement, toll collection system, drainage, fence and landscaping. Meanwhile, the annual maintenance works cover pothole repair services, asphalt overlays, crack sealing, and pavement marking enhancements.
The NLEX Corporation cited that one of its notable projects is the NLEX-SCTEX integration, which involved the conversion of toll collection into a single system that resulted in reduced toll collection stops and faster travel time from Balintawak to Subic/Tarlac and back.
The aforementioned program also led to the modernization of the SCTEX’s features as it now has closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and upgraded traffic control center.
The tollway operator noted that it holds the concession for the management, operation, and maintenance of the SCTEX being the private sector partner of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
Earlier, the company announced that it is targeting to complete within the year the NLEX Connector and start the construction of NLEX-C5 Link Mindanao Avenue-Quirino Highway Section and the Candaba third viaduct.
