How many personnel will be deployed to man the NLEX-SCTEX?
Per NLEX Corporation, more than 1,000 personnel will man the two expressways as part of the “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” motorist assistance program. When is the ideal time to travel during the upcoming long weekend?
The NLEX Corporation urged motorists to travel during the off-peak hours to avoid possible delays caused by the influx of travelers. In a statement, NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi Bautista said that motorists may take advantage of the off-peak hours “to avoid possible delays caused by the influx of travelers.”
The tollway operator is anticipating that the surge will start in the afternoon until the late night of October 28, and November 1 as well as in the early morning to afternoon of October 29, and November 2.
The NLEX Corporation said heavy traffic is highly probable in areas leading to the Philippine Arena/Ciudad de Victoria (CDV) on October 31 as the Iglesia ni Cristo will have its Lingap Pamamahayag event from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For this, the NLEX Corporation will deploy around 40 personnel to manage traffic flow inside the CDV complex and will ensure that toll lanes in both directions would be manned to further assist motorists.
Bautista said that motorists may verify the traffic situation before heading to their destinations, saying that traffic advisories are regularly posted on the company’s official social media accounts, shared to callers in the (02) 1-35000 hotline and through DWRW 95.1 FM and UFM 105.5 radio announcements.
Earlier, the NLEX Corporation announced that it will deploy more than 1,000 personnel from October 28 to November 2 as part of its “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” (SMSK) Motorist Assistance Program.
Further, motorists are recommended to take advantage of the cashless payment option to avoid queues at toll gates. Those who already have RFID should top up and maintain positive balance in their accounts to further experience a hassle-free trip.
Moreover, road works and lane closures along the stretch of the North Luzon Expressway and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) — except for the Candaba Viaduct, SCTEX Dinalupihan and areas where safety repairs will be necessary — will be suspended for the whole duration of the SMSK. Free towing service to the nearest exit will be available for Class 1 from October 28, 6 a.m. to November 2, 6 a.m.
Motorists are also informed that only two lanes at the Candaba Viaduct’s southbound direction are open, with the rightmost lane allotted for light vehicles while the leftmost lane is for large trucks. From November 1, 12 a.m. to November 2, noontime, Class 3 vehicles will be restricted both in the northbound and southbound directions of the Viaduct due to the limited capacity of the bridge as NLEX expects high traffic volume during the said period.
Additionally, all Customer Service Centers will be open on October 28, 29, 31, November 2 from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on November 1 from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. to provide services and address motorists’ concerns.
