NLEX to increase toll rates today
Motorists taking the North Luzon Expressway take note: your toll fees will increase starting today (November 25, Wednesday).
The addition on the toll rates—which will take effect past midnight or 12:01 am on November 25—will reflect a minimum of P4 in the open system and P0.06 per kilometer in the closed system
Under the open system (where flat rate is charged per entry) includes Quezon City, Caloocan City, Valenzuela City, Malabon City, Navotas City, Meycauayan City and Marilao, Bulacan. Based on the latest toll matrix, Class 1 vehicles (regular cars and SUVs) will have an added P4, P10 on Class 2 buses and small trucks) and P11 on Class 3 vehicles.
For end-to-end travel, vehicles traveling from Metro Manila to Mabalacat City in Pampanga will be charged an additional toll of P9, P20, and P25 per class.
Such adjustment was approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) following the completion and opening last June of the P7-Billion NLEX Harbor Link 2.6 -kilometer elevated section between the new Caloocan Interchange at C3 Road/5th Avenue and the new Navotas Interchange along R-10/Mel Lopez Boulevard.
Instead of being implemented this year, the NLEX Corporation explained that toll movement was deferred “in consideration of the adverse economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.”
