Land Rover Philippines has brought in its latest limited-run offering to mark the Defender’s anniversary.
Dubbed the Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition, the newest product from the Whitley-headquartered automotive marque was created to celebrate the nameplate’s introduction in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show.
Offered in the 110 and 90 body designs, the Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition sports a distinct exterior design theme, with complementing wheels and interior finishes.
According to Coventry Motors Corporation (CMC) President Chris Ward, the company has secured three units of the Defender 75th Limited Edition for the Philippine market.
“The Defender was well received in the country. There is such a growing demand and following for this exceptional vehicle,” he said. “Introducing the Defender 75th Limited Edition will satisfy every driver’s desire to own and drive this iconic vehicle.”
The latest offering is painted with the iconic Grasmere Green body color — the first time that the aforementioned hue became available in the Defender lineup. The same shade is also present on the 20-inch alloy wheels with matching center caps.
Rounding up the exterior upgrades are the 75 Years graphic, Ceres Silver bumpers and Privacy Glass.
Inside the cabin, the Defender has received similar treatment, as the cross car beam has a brushed Grasmere Green powder coat and laser-etched detailing on its end caps. The seats are finished in Resist Ebony, with the hockey stick on the center console featuring Robustec material.
“Since revealing the new Defender, customers around the globe have fallen in love with it and demand remains extremely strong. This new Limited Edition captures the spirit of the past 75 years, with its colour and detailing, and fuses it with innovative new technology such as Hybrid Electric power, Configurable Terrain Response, software over the air updates and unrivalled all-terrain capability,” Defender Lifecycle Chief Engineer Stuart Frith said.
The limited-edition model is based on the high-specification equipment, with comprehensive standard equipment. Innovative technology includes three-dimensional surround camera, configurable terrain response, meridian sound system, matrix LED front lighting, 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, head-up display and wireless device charger.
Further, all 75th Limited Edition models shall also feature a Folding Fabric Roof or the option of a Sliding Panoramic Roof, 14-way driver and passenger heated electric memory seats, heated steering wheel and three-zone climate control. An electronically-deployable tow bar and all-season tires can be added as options.
The Philippine-spec Land Rover Defender 75th Limited Edition is powered by a 3.0-liter, six-inline, 24-cylinder D300 engine that can provide as much as nearly 296 horses and up to 650 Newton-meters of pulling power.
Moreover, the Defender nameplate has earned a five-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Program.
The pricing of the new Defender 75th Limited Edition starts at P 11.69 million.
Relatedly, the highly-collectible Defender is being presented alongside a new range of Land Rover lifestyle goods. The lifestyle collection — which are also in Grasmere Green color theme — include a watch with two straps, a functional backpack, and clothing with 75 Years graphics and unique details.
