Oil firms hike pump prices anew
Fuel companies in the Philippines are back to increasing pump prices after imposing a rollback last week.
Based on their respective announcements, Cleanfuel, Caltex, Petron and Pilipinas Shell will be upping the price gasoline by P1.25 per liter and diesel by P0.90 per liter by tomorrow (Tuesday, March 16). Aside from that, kerosene prices will also be jacked up by P0.85 per liter.
Last week, oil firms implemented a price reduction on diesel by P0.35, gasoline by P0.10 per liter and kerosene by P0.55 per liter.
It was also last week when labor group Defend Jobs Philippines cited that the prices of gasoline and diesel increased by eight times since January this year, totaling to P6.20 and P6.05 per liter, respectively, while the price of kerosene went up seven times, amounting to P5.25 per liter. The group said that LPG and Auto LPG went up only twice as P3.78 and P2.12 per kilogram, respectively.
