OJPH to start selling 5, E5 units before 2024 ends

More than a year after it entered the country, Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines (OJPH) shall start selling its vehicles in the market within the final stretch of 2024.

Per OJPH, the upcoming retail branches shall open in September to November this year.
The company added that those who want to test-drive and pre-order the units can visit the mall displays in SM Aura Premier, Ayala Mall Feliz, Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, Ayala Malls Glorietta, Evia Lifestyle Center, and Ayala Alabang Town Center, starting mid-September. The first 100 buyers will also receive a special package care from OJPH Philippines.
“The arrival of these vehicles is the first step in solidifying the presence of Omoda and Jaecoo in the Philippine market. The Omoda 5 and Omoda E5 aim to give Filipinos a taste of automotive engineering that’s unique to Omoda and Jaecoo,” Omoda and Jaecoo Motor Philippines Incorporated Country Director Marco Chen was quoted as saying.
“To exhibit our commitment to bringing the DNA of our brand’s innovation to the Philippines, we’re also excited to announce that other Omoda and Jaecoo cars such as the Omoda 3, Omoda 7, and Jaecoo J6 are also scheduled to arrive in the Philippines. The arrival date and pricing of these models will be announced soon,” he added.
To recall, OJPH has already partnered with DB Schenker to host the vehicles’ spare parts in a local warehouse.
It was in early 2023 that the company entered the Philippine market and announced its supposed soft launch by year end of the same year. However, the company was able to showcase their offerings to the public at the Manila International Auto Show 2024.
Also, OJPH brought a few units back to the country in October 2023 to be utilized for pre-launch activities and previews.
Here are some initial details about soon-to-be-sold Omoda vehicles.
Per OJPH, the Omoda 5 can run zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 7.8 seconds and sports an "Art in Motion" design with its matrix grille, 18-inch black wheels, and a dynamic fastback profile.
Meanwhile, the Omoda E5 is equipped with a 61-kilowatt-battery power bank that, when fully juiced, lets the vehicle cover up to 430 kilometers. The marque’s initial entry to the local electric vehicle segment consumes 15.5 kWh per 100 km.
Both models will be slapped with a seven-year or 200,000-kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty, while the engine, a 10-year or one million-km coverage.
