Omoda Philippines will offer its first electric vehicle (EV) offering in the country with an eight-year warranty.
According to the Chinese carmaker’s local arm, the Omoda 5 EV will be offered in the country with an eight-year or 200,000 kilometer-warranty (whichever comes first). The said customer guarantee includes the actual battery.
On that note, the Chinese brand looks to offer early adopters peace of mind and the notion that they will get the best bang for their buck with Omoda.
In addition, the Omoda 5 EV will also put forward four other selling points upon its arrival. The first of which is a modern-looking design.
The Omoda 5 EV offers futuristic fascia and a streamlined body. Meanwhile, the interior of the Omoda 5 EV incorporates tech-oriented elements with a simple and straightforward design.
“A wealth of exterior and interior color options provides consumers with seven vibrant and dynamic exterior colors and three interior color-matching designs, to meet the personalized needs of different consumers,” Omoda wrote in a press release.
The second selling point Omoda hopes to catch the attention of Filipino car buyers is the intelligent technologies offered by the electric crossover.
Per Omoda’s Philippine arm, the upcoming electric vehicle has a 12.3-inch curved screen. Meanwhile, advanced driving technologies with fatigue monitoring function ensures driving safety.
Additionally, the Omoda 5 EV is said to be capable of 10 driving modes, which the brand calls “camping, energy-saving, sobering, warming up, cooling, welcoming, Karaoke, haze, pets, and starting.” The said drive modes are said to make driving “smarter” and more convenient.
The Omoda 5 EV is also said to be an EV that is able to run with low energy requirements.
Apparently, Omoda’s EIC technology significantly reduces the energy consumption of the vehicle.
On paper, the Chery-owned Omoda brand said that the consumption level of its upcoming EV is only 15 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers. Range is estimated to be at approximately 450 kilometers.
In addition, the Omoda 5 EV’s fast-charging technology will allow owners to juice up the battery to around 80 percent in just half an hour.
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) function— or the ability to provide charge to other appliances — is also available for the Omoda 5 EV.
According to Omoda Philippines, the crossover EV will boast 17 advanced driver assistance (ADAS) technologies. Although not specified, the brand claims that in addition to its sturdy body structure, the said ADAS features will provide all-around safety for eco-friendly traveling, allowing drivers to travel with greater peace of mind.
The Omoda 5 EV is expected to be launched in the Philippines in the last quarter of 2023.
