The distributor's official debut will likely happen before the year ends.Its arrival was confirmed by no less than its newly-hailed brand manager, John Ezekiel Asuncion. The aforementioned marque is a sub-brand of the Chery Group.
In an interview, Asuncion confirmed to Carmudi Philippines that the brand’s official launch will happen “before the year ends.”
While Chery’s distributorship in the country is under United Asia Automotive Group, Inc., the new SUV brand will reportedly work as a separate entity locally.
“I'm saying hello to our beloved industry again as I take on the new challenge of being the country's Brand Manager for Omoda Philippines,” Asuncion said in a recent e-mail.
Asuncion has been in the motoring industry for more than a decade. Prior to his latest position, he was a part of the Motor Image Philippines Inc. (distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country). Before that, he served Toyota Motor Philippines as group head of strategic planning, product marketing, brand management, and motorsports.
Following this, the Chinese automotive brand might introduce one of its known models, the Omoda 5.
