Opening of NLEX's Segment 10 Now Cuts Caloocan-Valenzuela Travel Time to 5 Minutes
Good news to all commuters: the newly-opened, 5.65-km elevated highway of North Luzon Expressway's (NLEX) Harbor Link Segment 10, which connects Valenzuela, Malabon, and Caloocan cities, now cuts travel time from Caloocan to Valenzuela to only five minutes. It has also given a new route from Mindanao Avenue to Caloocan City.
"It will reduce travel time from Valenzuela to C3 [in Caloocan> from the usual one hour to just five minutes," President Rodrigo Duterte said during its inauguration last February 28. "That's heaven. And it will benefit around 20,000 motorists per day and it will also serve as an alternate route for motorists."
Aside from significantly cutting commute time, NLEX's Segment 10 also helps decongest different traffic choke points, particularly in the areas of A. Bonifacio, EDSA, C3 Caloocan, Karuhatan, MacArthur Highway, and Quezon City. What's more, it also gives alternative access to more than 30,000 motorists who ply through its roads daily.
NLEX Corporation President Luigi Bautista also added that Segment 10's completion will not only increase land value around the area, it will also generate more employment.
