P2P Bus Service Route from Cavite to Makati Now Open
Good news to all commuters who take the Cavite-Makati route: The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that P2P buses has now started operating the said route.
You can now expect the 120-passenger Metro Express Premium P2P buses to ply through the Bacoor-Makati and Dasmariñas-Makati routes regularly. Both routes will use the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway and the Skyway, respectively, to reach Makati.
The buses' regular schedule will be from Monday to Friday. The Bacoor-Makati route will be operational from 6 AM to 8 PM, while the Dasmariñas-Makati route will be available from 5:30 AM to 8 PM.
The P2P bus drop-off points will be at San Lorenzo Place for Makati, Vista Mall Daang Hari for Bacoor, and Camella-Dasmariñas Highway for Dasmariñas.
Solution to Public Transportation Problems?
Transport officials want the P2P bus service to modernize the country's public utility buses and serve as a model for future bus transportation.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Martin Delgra explained: "We are addressing the problem in public transportation and hopefully, these modern buses can serve as an example of the solutions we are looking for."
Delgra, however, admitted that the new buses will cost more, but they will be cheaper to maintain and operate.
Benefits of P2P Bus Services
P2P bus services boast of three advantages for commuter: It helps them avoid long lines by viewing the number of waiting passengers at any P2P bus station; it can help them share their locations to loved ones so they can be tracked, and they can stay up-to-date by checking out the latest schedules, stations, and updates from operators.
This project is an initiative by the DOTr "to offer commuters another reliable and safe mode of transport and help reduce the traffic volume in Metro Manila and beyond."
