Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is conducting a safety recall campaign for several models sold in the local market. The recall includes select models of the Mitsubishi Pajero, Mitsubishi L200, Mitsubishi Strada, Mitsubishi Lancer, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, and Mitsubishi Fuzion. The said recall is due to a possible faulty airbag inflator.MMPC said that the Pajero's airbag inflator for the driver seat may be deteriorated due to the changes of temperature under humid condition. This condition may cause the inflator to rupture at the time of airbag deployment. The 2007--2016 Pajeros are the models affected in the said safety recall. MMPC said that the inspection and/or replacement of the faulty airbag inflator may take about one hour and it is free of charge. The L200 and Strada pickup truck also has the same airbag issue. Included in the safety recall are the 2007--2014 L200 and Strada models. As such, MMPC reiterates that the inspection and/or replacement of the affected airbag inflator may take about one hour and shall be free of charge. Moreover, the possible faulty airbag inflator extends to models such as the Lancer, Lancer Evolution IX, and Fuzion. Included in the recall are the following: 2009--2010 Lancer Evolution IX, 2006--2009 Lancer, and 2005--2008 Fuzion models. The inspection and/or replacement of the affected airbag inflator may take around two hours and it is free of charge.MMPC encourages owners of the affected models to check and verify if their vehicle is included in the said safety recall by clicking through this link, selecting what their particular vehicle model is, and then inputting the necessary information needed, starting with their vehicle's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
