Parts shortage pushes Toyota to adjust Japan production
In a recent press release, Toyota announced that adjustments will be made to the operations of its production facilities in Japan due to unexpected parts shortage.
Toyota will implement a scheduled suspension of operations in three production lines for two of its Japan plants: Toyota Motor East Japan, Inc. (TMEJ) Iwate Plant and Toyota Motor East Japan, Inc. (TMEJ) Miyagi Ohira Plant.
Production in Toyota’s Iwate Plant Line 1 is scheduled on June 7 (Mon), 8 (Tue), 9 (Wed), 10 (Thu), 11 (Fri), 14 (Mon), 21 (Mon), and 22 (Tue). The temporary suspension will affect the production of the Toyota C-HR.
On the other hand, production on Line 2 in the same plant will take place on June 9 (Wed), 10 (Thu), 11 (Fri), 14 (Mon), and 15 (Tue). This will affect the production of the Toyota Yaris and the Yaris Cross.
The affected line in Toyota’s Miyagi Ohira Plant will happen on June 9 (Wed), 10 (Thu), and 11 (Fri) affecting the production of the Toyota Yaris Cross.
