The claims were filed in 2021.In a statement, the Japanese automotive marque announced that the plaintiff has waived its claims that alleged patent infringement related to electrical steel sheets used in electric vehicle motors and manufactured by Baoshan Iron and Steel Company Limited.
Per TMC, Nippon Steel filed the court cases in 2021. Following the "waiver of claim" initiated by Nippon Steel, the lawsuits regarding the electrical steel sheets shall be closed.
“With the support of various stakeholders, including suppliers who have supported us for the many years since the birth of Japan's automotive industry, new suppliers who have joined us as technology has advanced, and various other stakeholders, we will move forward with new projects that surpass the boundaries of industry,” the Japanese automotive giant noted in the press release.
