PBBM orders suspension order vs. Guadiz over corruption allegations
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the suspension of Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III due to reports of alleged corruption.

Per the LTFRB, Guadiz said that his office will cooperate with the government.In a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office, the head of the Republic said that he “does not tolerate any misconduct in his administration and has instructed the immediate investigation of this matter.”
Additionally, the message noted that the President strongly condemns dishonesty and duplicity in public service.
Prior to the President’s order, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary of Legal Affairs Reinier Paul Yebra issued a Notice to Explain to Guadiz.
“We already launched an investigation on the allegations against the LTFRB. While we are already evaluating the alleged irregularities involving [Chairman Guadiz>, we also issued a notice to explain against Guadiz for him to shed light on the allegations,” DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista said.
Guadiz, then revealed that the LTFRB will remain open and will cooperate with the government to ensure that the trust that the public has placed in officials in the transportation sector is not wasted.
“Kagaya nga po ng dati na nating ginagawa, patuloy po nating aayusin at titiyakin na mananatili tayong patas sa paglilingkod sa ating mga stakeholder (As we have always done, we will continue to fix and ensure that we remain fair in serving our stakeholders),” Guadiz commented.
“As of this morning, nasa opisina naman ako at wala pa po akong nalalaman na anumang opisyal na inihain laban po sa atin pero kung mayroon man, haharapin naman po natin ito dahil malinis po ang ating kalooban (As of this morning, I am in the office and I am not yet aware of any official charges filed against us, but if there is, we will deal with it because our will is clean),” he added.
