Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) handed over 50 units of Hiace Commuter Deluxe converted into so-called patient transport vehicles (PTV) to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
The initial number is part of the 300 units ordered by the government agency from the country’s leading automotive distributor.
Held at the Toyota Otis dealership, the official turnover and deed of donation signing was attended by officers and representatives of the 50 municipalities and cities, PCSO Vice Chairperson and General Manager Royina Marzan Garma, PCSO Charity Assistance Manager Atty. Marissa Medrano, PCSO Assistant General Manager Julieta Aseo, and PCSO Special Projects Division Chief Muriel Pajarillo.
During her speech, Garma expressed her appreciation to Toyota for producing high-quality vehicles that can be converted into ambulances to address the medical transportation requirements of local government units (LGU).
The newly delivered PTVs have been converted to meet the requirements of the PCSO PTV distribution program that provides local authorities medical transport vehicles for their respective areas of jurisdiction.
“Designed and built to navigate even to far-flung areas while also providing sense of comfort during travel, the country’s top-selling utility van surely delivers quality performance to safely, reliably, and comfortably transport patients needing mobility assistance, and health care workers while they save lives on-the-go,” TMP shared in a statement.
Further Toyota’s arm in the country said that local authorities who have and are about to receive the units have access to vehicle service and maintenance through its expansive dealer network nationwide.
“They may book their periodic maintenance appointment online through myToyota app or through direct contact with dealer marketing professionals and get the best and reliable service experience," it continued.
