Peugeot equips 208, 2008 with new automatic shifter
In a recent press release, Peugeot announced that it has equipped the automatic variants of 208 superminis and 2008 SUVs with a new sleek and ergonomic shifter. Replacing the outgoing lever is a transmission control that’s seamlessly integrated into the center console, said the French automaker.

According to Peugeot, the new automatic shifter allows standard driving modes to be selected such as Reverse (R), Neutral (N), and Drive (D).
Internal combustion engine models of the 208 and 2008 will have a Manual (M) button which allows drivers to manually select the gear engaged using the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. On the other hand, EV variants, such as the e-208 and e-2008, feature a Brake (B) button which activates regenerative braking that increases energy recovery during deceleration.
All 208 and 2008 versions equipped with this new control feature an electrically-operated parking brake, which combines space-saving with comfort and peace of mind in everyday driving.
