Peugeot PH now under new distributor group
The local arm of the French automaker Peugeot is now under Astara — one of the biggest automotive distributors in Europe and Latin America.

Peugeot Philippines Brand Head Maricar Parco said that the agreement was signed as early as 2018.The announcement of the partnership between Astara (formerly known as Bergé Auto) and Stellantis (the mother company that houses Peugeot, resulting from the PSA Group-Fiat Chrysler Automobiles [FCA> merger).
During the press conference, Peugeot Philippines Brand Head Maricar Parco said that the turnover of distributorship was made even before the pandemic started.
“The memorandum of agreement was signed two years ago with Astara. But because of the pandemic that was really stretched, and here we are, January 2022,” Parco told Carmudi Philippines, attributing the delay on travel restrictions and other challenges caused by the current global situation.
“It was very challenging but we are happy that we are here today already, announcing this partnership,” she added.
Astara is an automotive distribution and mobility services group, with a presence in 16 countries to distribute 29 car brands including operations in Latin American , Europe and Southeast Asia.
“Having sound international expertise and a broad understanding of the mobility sector, Astara delivers innovative tailor-made solutions for every brand and market. We offer a diversified portfolio of mobility products and services as ownership, subscription, B2B/B2C, and new digital channels. Recognizing the global trend towards a more customer-led economy in the current digital environment, we are committed to pursuing new business ventures resulting from this unique scenario,” the company stated in its company portfolio.
For his part, Peugeot Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello expressed excitement over its presence in the country.
“Our investment will help infuse a renewed sense of vigor for Peugeot Philippines and its patrons, creating a more purposeful brand that resonates to the Philippine market,” Picello was quoted as saying. “We hope that, as we move forward and grow together, these exciting changes can help us meet the ever-changing needs of Filipinos.”
Further, Astara is also set to support Peugeot Philippines’ digital transformation at all levels with its global expertise in cutting-edge technology beginning second quarter of this year. “To bring the brand closer to more Filipinos nationwide, Peugeot Philippines aims to open seven more dealerships on top of the current four outlets, totaling 11 by end of 2022,” Peugeot Philippines added.
