Fresh from the brand re-introduction and the launch of the new Peugeot 5008, the French Lion marque is showing its aggressiveness further with the upcoming reveal of the new 3008.
Based on an invite, the local product launch for the new Peugeot 3008 will be on February 11.
“A new lion is in town,” the invite from Peugeot Philippines said, pertaining to the forthcoming sport utility vehicle offering.
While the Philippine market waits for the introduction of the facelifted Peugeot 3008, below are the specifications available in other countries (which could also be seen in the incoming iteration).
The new Peugeot 3008 is offered in three engine options: gasoline (in 1.2- and 1.6-liter varieties), hybrid (1.5-liter internal combustion engines matched with one or two electric motors), and diesel (1.5- and 1.2-liter options).
The hybrid power mill can deliver as much as 197hp; the pure gasoline-powered up to 178 horses; while the diesel-run 129hp.
All internal combustion engines are equipped with automatic gearboxes, with three driving modes to choose from: Normal, Sport and Eco. On the other hand, the hybrid engines offer full-electric, hybrid, sport and even 4WD on a certain trim.
The abovementioned model is expected to sport the i-Cockpit that features a 10-inch, high-definition infotainment system and seven toggle switches.
Furthermore, the new Peugeot 3008 is fitted with safety features like night vision (that detects living beings in front of the vehicles up to 250 meters), adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function; lane position assist, automatic emergency braking with collision risk warning, and extended recognition of traffic signs.
Peugeot Philippines is now offering the new 5008 and the outgoing 3008 (whose price starts at P1.89 million).
The Peugeot 3008 nameplate was first introduced locally in 2012 by Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), which is under the helm of Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez.
