Peugeot to unveil new 408

Stellantis announced that Peugeot — one of the brands under it — will be launching the new 408 soon.

The umbrella company said in a statement that the introduction of its newest offering will be made “toward the end of June 2022” as a global model.

Although Stellantis did not mention what type of vehicle the Peugeot 408 will be, it noted that the forthcoming offering combines the characteristic codes of a sport utility vehicle "with a dynamic Fastback silhouette.”

Based on Peugeot China’s website, the current 408 is a gasoline-powered executive sedan, so there is a high possibility that it would not veer away from that body type.

“Both in terms of design and engineering, the search for high efficiency and the desire to offer new experiences were at the heart of the development of the new Peugeot 408,” Stellantis shared in the latest statement.

“Aimed at those for whom the automobile is a pleasure, the 408 brings an unprecedented Allure to the Peugeot family,” it added.

Carmudi Philippines has yet to see the full specifications of the vehicle, but we are expecting that the vehicle will be sporting the new company logo.
