PGA Cars will hold its “FutureNow” display to further highlight the local distributor’s thrust to premium electrified mobility.
The country’s distributor of Porsche and Audi brands said in a statement the latest initiative will be a series of weekend exhibitions for “those who define sustainability as the new luxury.”
The display will be on May 27-29, and on June 3-5, at the North Court of Power Plant Mall in Rockwell Center, Makati City.
To be showcased at the mall are the Porsche Taycan, as well as the Audi e-tron SUV and e-tron GT. “With these models, PGA Cars — the partner of Porsche and Audi (along with Lamborghini and Bentley) in the Philippines — declares premium electromobility is not a concept for the future. Rather, it is a reality that is happening now,” the company said.
PGA Cars said that the latest Taycan (introduced locally in 2020) has a rear-drive layout as its Permanent magnet Synchronous Motor (PSM) is on the rear axle, paying homage to the 911’s classic rear-engine orientation. The PSM is matched to a two-speed transmission and Porsche’s Performance Battery. With a maximum output of 402 horses, the Taycan’s electric powertrain allows the vehicle to accelerate 0-100kph in 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 230kph.
The latest Porsche Taycan also comes with 20-inch Taycan Turbo Aero wheels; black front apron, side sills and rear diffuser; LED headlights; a central 10.9-inch infotainment display; an 8.4-inch center console touchscreen; and another display for the front passenger — an optional equipment which Porsche Philippines specified for new Taycan models.
Further, the vehicle has the Porsche 4D Chassis Control that analyzes and synchronizes all chassis systems in real time; adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology; and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) electronic damper control system.
On the other hand, the Audi e-tron SUV and e-tron GT are the Ingolstadt-headquartered automaker’s electric vehicle offering locally.
The Audi e-tron SUV has two electric motors that provide 408hp and 664Nm that lets the vehicle sprint from standstill to 100kph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 200kph. It has an electric quattro all-wheel drive system that ensures traction.
The vehicle boasts five-star ratings from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Euro NCAP, and is also named a Top Safety Pick+ by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Meanwhile, the Audi e-tron GT is also powered by two electric motors (that has a peak output of 530hp and 630Nm) that enables the four-door coupe to reach 100 kph from rest in 4.1 seconds. It also comes with an electric quattro all-wheel drive system.
Relatedly, PGA Cars shared that it is collaborating with stakeholders in putting up charging facilities in strategic destinations that will complement the residential charging solutions that already provided to customers upon purchase of the vehicle.
The Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron range come with portable charging systems that can be plugged into either a household or a three-phase industrial outlet. The models also have available alternating current (AC) charging units that can be installed at homes — which are as convenient to use as chargers for mobile phones. Setting up a home charging system is no more complicated than installing an air-conditioning unit.
PGA Cars also established a high-powered direct current (DC) charger — the first of such type in the country — that can be found at the company's EDSA Greenhills showroom.
Moreover, PGA Cars further commits to sustainable mobility by “adopting carbon-neutral processes for its operations."
"Among the efforts is the creation of a micro carbon sink — basically defined as a natural or man-made reservoir that can accumulate carbon emissions from the atmosphere — that can help the company absorb an amount of carbon dioxide nearly equal to that emitted during its operations,” PGA Cars noted.
“The first phase in PGA Cars’ carbon sink program involves transplanting full-grown trees in the vicinity of its main showrooms and service facilities on EDSA, Greenhills. The move seeks to help in curbing pollution, as well as to significantly improve aesthetics, in the area,” it added.
