The Philippines-bound Mitsubishi Triton will be on display at the upcoming 2023 Japan Mobility Show.
According to leadership of Mitsubishi’s local arm, the Triton nameplate will be introduced to the local pickup truck segment in January 2024 and will effectively replace the Strada upon its arrival.
“Developed under the product concept of Power for Adventure, the all-new Triton is a one-ton pickup truck with a completely revamped interior and exterior design, frame, chassis, body and engine,” Mitsubishi said in a statement.
The Mitsubishi Triton boasts a new 2.4-liter diesel powerplant, which balances high power output as well as enhanced environmental performance.
Complementing the new mill is the brand’s Super Select 4WD-II drivetrain as well as upgraded drive modes for superior road performance.
Likewise, its newly-developed ladder frame has been honed to achieve the utmost in durability and reliability.
The Mitsubishi Triton also boasts a commanding front-end design as well as a classy yet comfortable interior, which can make it suitable for a wide range of applications, from business to personal use.
Also to be on display is the Asia Cross Country Rally Mitsubishi Triton as well as its Delica D:5 support car.
Mitsubishi will also be bringing the Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), the Eclipse Cross PHEV, and the eK X EV electric kei car.
Some concept models will also make their way to Mitsubishi’s booth at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. These are the Last 1 mile Mobility electric buggy and an unnamed rugged crossover.
According to Mitsubishi, the Last 1 mile Mobility compact mobility system will enable further adventures after the owner’s car has reached its destination while the rugged crossover combines the handling of a sport utility vehicle while offering the comfort and ease of use of a multi-purpose vehicle.
The latter will even have an electric four-wheel drive system as well as a high ground clearance, making it ideal for conquering unpaved terrain.
