The Philippine-spec Suzuki Burgman Street was able to come up with a new efficiency record in a locally-organized fuel economy run.
In the Luzon leg of the Suzuki Burgman Econo Run 2024 held last May 11, the scooter clocked in 94.6 kilometers per liter (kpl) — toppling the 93.7-kpl record achieved in the same program for the Visayas leg in April last year.
Meanwhile, the Suzuki Burgman Street EX (the nameplate’s top-spec option) had a 76.52-kpl fuel efficiency rating.
For the recently-concluded event, participants rode the automatic motorcycle for about 100 kilometers — from Suzuki Antipolo Motorcycle City 3S Shop to Batis Aramin Resort and Hotel in Lucban, Quezon. They had to follow the follow specific guidelines such as the following:
According to SPH, the numbers were achieved thanks to the motorcycle’s highly-efficient mills coupled with their riders’ driving techniques.
The Burgman Street Standard and EX are two of Suzuki’s scooters in the local market. They are priced at P83,400 and P92,400, respectively.
