Foton Philippines has delivered four innovatively designed food trucks to Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in the non-government office’s bid to advance its response capabilities to those in need.
Delivered by the Foton Quezon Avenue dealership, the four food trucks based on the Foton Tornado M4.2C were recently delivered to the Philippine Red Cross in Mandaluyong City. Fitted inside each unit is a state-of-the-art kitchen which includes a refrigerator, cooking stove, equipment storage, washing area, and a stove hood.
“Ngayong mag-i-ECQ, maraming kababayan natin ang maaring nawawalan ng trabaho so, naisipan po ng ating National Headquarters, especially ni Chairman (Richard) Gordon itong mga food fruck natin para makatulong sa mga barangay, mga lugar na mahihirapan maka-access sa safe and nutritious food (As enhanced community quarantine is about to be implemented, the national headquarters — especially by Chairman Gordon — though of these food trucks to help communities that have difficulties to access safe and nutritious food),” Philippine Red Cross Navotas and Caloocan Chapter Administrator Roberto Dacles was quoted as saying.
“Isa po talaga sa problems namin is yung transportation, kung papaano po namin ibababa sa community yung mga food at relief… At itong Foton Philippines po ay napakalaking tulong po sa atin kasi napapabilis po natin ang agarang tulong para sa mga naapektuhan ng pandemic (One of our problems is transportation, on how we will bring food and relief goods to the community… And Foton Philippines serves as big help as it speeds up our initiatives for those affected by the pandemic),” he added.
The Foton Tornado M4.2C Food Trucks are powered by one of the world's pioneering diesel engine brands, Cummins. The powertrain fitted in these vehicles is capable of producing a maximum output of 154Nm.
With a body length of 14 feet, the Foton Tornado M4.2C Food Truck has been designed to fit various kitchen essentials yet can still be driven within the streets of the metropolis.
“Alam naman po natin na tayo ay archipelagic country kaya napakahalaga po sa atin ang transportasyon. Ang partnership na ito ng Red Cross at Foton Philippines ay magbubunga ng maganda most especially pagdating sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin (Transportation is crucial in our country, as it is an archipelago. The partnership between Red Cross and Foton Philippines will bear good results, especially in terms of helping our compatriots),” he claimed.
