PH-spec GAC M8 to be revealed this week

GAC Motor Philippines will officially unveil the M8 this week.

Based on the invite sent to Carmudi Philippines, Astara Philippines — the Chinese automaker’s arm in the country — shall reveal the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) on February 15, 2024.

While the local distributor has yet to share the full details about the upcoming vehicle, here are some specifications about the GAC M8.

The GAC M8 will be available in two options namely the GL and the GX Master. The former (which will serve as its entry-level trim shall be priced between P3 million-P3.1 million while the latter’s price tag will be in between P4 million-P4.1 million.

Outside, the GAC M8 sports a huge chrome grille that matches the 18-inch wheels as well as the appointments on the windows of its power-sliding doors. It also has sharp LED headlamps and “connected” rear combination lamps.

Inside, the GAC M8 cabin (at least for the tier-tier option) wears leather interiors, power-adjustable seats for front occupants, ventilated and heated seats with massage functions, sectional panoramic roof, and three-zone automatic air-conditioning system.

Aside from that, the people-carrier is outfitted with a 14.6-inch multifunction touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Bluetooth connectivity matched to an eight-speaker system, a 12.3-inch digital cluster gauge, as well as Type A and Type C USB ports and 12-volt outlet.

The arriving seven-seater offering is powered by a 2.0-liter TGDI engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The aforementioned mill can dish out as much as 248 horsepower and 400 Newton-meters of torque.
