The Philippines remains to be an important market for Isuzu as it is the first country that has started retailing the left-hand-drive version of the all-new Isuzu mu-X.
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) Department Head for Product Planning Robert Carlos shared the information during the virtual presser for the much-awaited sports utility vehicle, expressing firm belief that the nameplate’s accomplishments would carry on with the latest generation.
“Similar to the D-Max, Isuzu sees the Philippine market as significant for the success of the new mu-X. If you could remember in 2014, when we first launched this model to the country, Isuzu’s sales volume was even higher than that of Australia at the time – simply showing how the Filipino market values this model and its family appeal,” Carlos said.
“And with the introduction of the all-new Isuzu mu-X, Isuzu is looking at a similar reception, with a strong customer demand since last year it was inevitable for us to launch this new generation locally as soon as possible,” he added.
Meanwhile, IPC Executive Vice President Shojiro Sakoda said that the all-new Isuzu mu-X has already enjoyed a warm reception in the Thailand and Australian markets.
“Since its introduction in Thailand in 2020 and late July in Australia, the all-new Isuzu mu-X model has seen a significant market share increase in those countries. Its new luxurious design proves to be very popular in the Thai market, while Australians clearly love its improved 4x4 capabilities perfect for the outdoorsy lifestyle down under,” he claimed.
“Our success in these countries is without a doubt the result of research and listening to customer’s feedback, these are things that the Philippine market will experience driving the all-new Isuzu mu-X, the refinement and attention to details are on point with this all-new model,” Sakoda added.
The second-generation Isuzu mu-X, which is now available, was launched virtually via Isuzu's social media platform last night.
The newly introduced model is available in five colors namely Onyx Black, Mercury Silver, Splash White and the new hues Marrakesh Brown and Satin White Pearl and is offered in five variants at the following prices:
