The two 1.5 G variants are no longer part of the Philippines’ Vios lineup.
Based on the company website, the leading automaker’s subcompact sedan roster now only comes in four variants: J MT, XE CVT, XLE MT, and XLE CVT.
To note, the newly-discontinued option is the sole member of the Toyota Vios lineup that is equipped with a 1.5-liter 2NR-FE gasoline engine that can provide up 105.5 horsepower and 140 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Its mill is mated to either a continuous variable transmission or a five-speed manual gearbox.
Aside from that, the said variation is the only member in the current lineup that is fitted with a leather steering wheel, push start system, and select drive modes (under the CVT variation).
Providing the stopping power for the dropped variation are disc brakes on all four wheels.
The car’s distinct exterior features are three-tier LED headlamps, LED line guide daytime running lights and gloss black grille, among others.
Meanwhile, all the remaining Toyota Vios trims are outfitted with the 1NR-FE 1.3-liter four-cylinder, dual overhead cam mill that can dish out up to 97.6 horses and 123 Nm of pulling power. Their stopping power comes from ventilated discs at the front and drum-type for the rear.
With the variations now only up to four, the pricing of the new Toyota Vios starts from P732,000 all the way to P902,000.
Earlier, the GR-S and E options under the local Vios roster have also been removed in the Toyota Motor Philippines’ official website.
