After revealing its latest MPV and SUV in a press launch late last month, BAIC Philippines exhibited its latest offers in the 2018 Philippine International Motorshow (PIMS).
During the biennial meet, BAIC, spearheaded by George Chua, launched the new Baic M60 midsize crossover multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Priced at PHP1.068 million, the M60 offers an MPV with bigger dimensions that offers a more luxurious, executive ride, said BAIC Assistant Vice President for Marketing, Honeymae Limjap. The seven-seater luxury MPV is powered by compact yet powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that could provide a top speed of 170 kph, 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 210Nm. In a statement, BAIC is that asserting its vehicle can reach 13 km/L mileage. It also represents BAIC Philippines' first automatic gearbox option on an MPV model.
Limjap said that the dimensions of the vehicle can somehow rival the Kia Grand Carnival. The M60 is borderline between mid- and full-sized MPVs with its 4.8m length, 1.8m width and 1.7m height. However, despite the large size, the M60 has a 5.5m turning radius. Aside from the M60, BAIC also brought the BAIC M50S compact MPV and the BAIC BJ20 compact crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV), models which were introduced on September 28, as well as the BAIC MZ40 three-row and BAIC MZ45 four-row vans that were launched back in 2014.
