Porsche Philippines expanded its electrified Cayenne lineup after it introduced the turbocharged version.
Serving as the marque’s most powerful sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the country, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid features notable updates that boosted its performance and range.
The crème-dela-crème versions of the third-generation Cayenne’s new iteration — available in Turbo E-Hybrid and Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe options — are powered by a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine that can dish out to almost 591 horses (hp) with an electric motor that can provide 174 hp.
Overall, the revised mill can deliver up to 729 hp and 950 Newton-meters of torque and allows the vehicle to go 0-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 3.7 seconds. It also has a maximum speed of 295 kph.
Additionally, the new offering can go longer distances and can be juiced up faster. The 25.9 kilowatt-hour high-voltage battery lets the vehicle cover 82 kilometers (per Equivalent all-electric range-city standards). On the other hand, the 11-kilowatt on-board charger speeds up charging time to under two-and-a-half hours (under a suitable wall charger or charging station) amid the bolstered battery capacity.
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is also fitted with adaptive air suspension with a new two-chamber, two-valve technology, which adjusts the rebound and compression stages of the suspension’s operation separately to improve comfort and safety. It also has a wider spectrum between the Comfort and Sport Plus settings.
Further, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid comes with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) while the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and rear-axle steering are offered as options.
Both the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid SUV and Coupé are equipped with specific front-end styling that are present only on the Turbo models, with enlarged cooling air intakes accented by shiny black air blades. Complementing the design are the wheel arch trims and exterior-color rear bumper.
Other features that are found on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid models include two twin tailpipes in brushed stainless steel and red brake calipers.
Meanwhile, other standard features in the new Turbo E-Hybrid models are the high-resolution high-definition Matrix LED headlights.
For its interior, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is fitted with aluminum inlays on the dashboard and door panel trims while Race-Tex covers the roof lining.
Standard equipment that are outfitted in the vehicle’s cabin include a heated GT sports steering wheel, a mode switch for fast and direct selection of the desired driving mode, and 18-way adjustable leather sports seats. Alternatively, 14-way adjustable leather comfort seats are available.
Like the previous model, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid boasts a new cockpit with an all-digital instrument cluster in a curved and free-standing design with variable display options, a redesigned center console and the optional passenger display.
To recall, the new-energy-vehicle version of the Cayenne was brought to the country late last year. The offering was launched to bolster Porsche’s electrification efforts in the country.
