Porsche Philippines announced the arrival of the Cayenne Turbo GT, just in time for the nameplate’s 20th anniversary.
The Porsche Cayenne has been one of the mainstays of the car manufacturer’s global success since 2002, and this turbocharged model takes the nameplate to a whole new level in terms of performance and driving dynamics.
To prove just that, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT lapped the 20.832-kilometer Nürburgring Nordschleife in a time of 7:38.9 minutes, setting a new official record as the fastest production SUV at the iconic racetrack.
Enabling the feat is a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine mated to a faster-shifting eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. Together, this setup makes 631 horses and 850Nm of almost instantaneous torque. This allows the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT to zoom from a standstill to 100kph in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 300kph.
Stopping power comes from a set of standard-fit Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) that can be seen underneath the SUV’s 22-inch GT Design Neodyme wheels wrapped in 22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
The locally offered Cayenne Turbo GT also comes with a unique front apron, enlarged side cooling air intakes, a contoured carbon roof, and black wheel arch extensions. It also sports model-specific features like its carbon side plates (fitted lengthwise to the roof spoiler) and the adaptively extendable rear spoiler lip.
Complementing the sporty character of the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is a suite of premium standard equipment including its 18-way Adaptive Sports Seats, sport rear seats, and multifunction sports steering wheel. Also fitted to the model is the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system that has a new user interface and operating logic.
The luxury sports SUV joins the brand’s current lineup which includes other models like the Cayenne E-Hybrid, Cayenne S, and Cayenne GTS.
