Porsche announced that it is expanding its 911 lineup with the 2023 Carrera T. The letter “T” stands for “Touring” and signifies models with equipment that enhances both driving pleasure and performance.
The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T adopts the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine from the 911 Carrera which makes 379 horsepower (hp) and 448.84Nm of torque. The powerplant is mated to either a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed Porsche double-clutch transmission (PDK). The seven-speed manual gearbox-equipped variant zooms from 0-100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 4.45 seconds while the optional eight-speed PDK transmission covers the same speed in only 3.93 seconds. The top track speed is 291.29kph, regardless of transmission choice.
Additionally, the Porsche 911 Carrera T also comes standard with the Sport Chrono Package and the Porsche Active Suspension Management system (PASM) Sport Suspension as standard. It also utilizes the mechanical limited slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV).
Other equipment that is made specific to the “T” include Titanium Grey Carrera S wheels that measure 20 inches in diameter at the front and 21 inches at the rear. It also comes standard with a GT Sport steering wheel, sport exhaust system, and four-way Sport Seats Plus. The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T is fitted with thinner glass and a smaller, more compact battery.
The “T” badge was first used in a 911 model in 1968 with the original 911 T being offered until 1973. In 2017, Porsche revived this particularly pure and light 911 variant in the 991 model line. Since then, the concept has successfully been implemented in other model lines with the 718 Cayman T, 718 Boxster T, and Macan T.
The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T will reach United States (US) dealers as early as March of next year and has a price tag of US$116,600 (approximately P6.864 million).
