Porsche delivered 80,767 units to clients around the world for the initial quarter of 2023.What is the best-selling Porsche model for Q1 2023?
The best-selling Porsche nameplate in the world for the initial quarter of the year is the Macan. In a statement, the Stuttgart-based automotive marque said that the strong sales output reflected an 18-percent rise compared to the 68,426 examples sold in the same period last year.
“We are pleased with this outstanding result. It shows the strong demand for our products and the strength of our brand,” Porsche AG Executive Board Member for Sales and Marketing Detlev von Platen said. “It’s particularly pleasing that we were able to post gains in every sales region – in spite of the still volatile economic situation and limited parts availability.”
Of the aforementioned number, China had the greatest number of Porsche vehicles delivered to buyers during the January-March timeline after the sports car manufacturer handed over 21,365 examples to clients. The said volume is 21-percent higher than the 17,685 units retailed in the area.
Following China is North America, where Porsche rolled out 19,651 units to customers. The number showed a 30-percent growth versus the 15,167 units sold in the first quarter of 2022.
In Europe (except Germany), Porsche turned over 18,420 cars in the first quarter of the year, which represents an increase of 14 percent over the same period in 2022.
Meanwhile, in Germany alone, the number of vehicles delivered went up by 19 percent, following the 8,247 vehicles sold in January-March 2023.
Also, Porsche shared that its SUV offerings remain popular to its client base as a total of 23,880 Macan examples were delivered to customers — showing a growth of 30 percent.
A close second is the Porsche Cayenne with its 23,387 deliveries (increase of 23 percent in sales).
Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 had a total of 11,063 units sold globally for the first three months of the year, boasting a 19-percent increase over its output in 2022.
Furthermore, Porsche Panamera sales for the first quarter of 2023 reached 8,479 units, enjoying a 10-percent rise compared to the previous year.
However, sales for the all-electric Taycan suffered a three-percent decline after delivering 9,152 examples for the opening quarter of the year. The company explained that the slide is due to the existing supply bottlenecks in the supplier industry.
Lastly, the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models contributed a further 4,806 deliveries and had a six percent growth.
"Our focus is on value-oriented growth. We pursue the goal of always producing one vehicle less than the market demands," von Platen said.
