Porsche Reveals All-Electric Taycan 4S
Following the announcement of the battery-powered Taycan Turbo and Turbo S, Porsche reveals their third car to be given the fully-electric treatment, the Porsche Taycan 4S.
Featuring a twin electric motor, the new model is capable of 522 hp, 407 to 463 kms of range (using the Performance battery and Performance battery Plus, respectively), a 250-kph top speed, and a 0-100 kph sprint of 4 seconds flat.
The car is slower than its predecessors by comparison, as the Taycan Turbo S accelerates from zero to 100 kph in 2.8 seconds, while the Taycan Turbo completes this sprint in 3.2 seconds. The top speed is also 10 kph less than Porsche's initial EV offerings.
Fortunately, it's also the cheapest car in Porsche's electric lineup with its USD103,800 (PHP5.3 million) starting price. Of course, 'cheapest' here is being used in relative terms. The infotainment display is the same 10.9-inch touchscreen used in the Taycan Turbo.
The German car company started taking preorders for the Taycan 4S EV starting October 14, with plans to release the car in Europe in January 2020 and in the US at some point in the middle of the year.
