Porsche revealed that it has sold a total of 27,885 Taycan automobiles globally from January to September of 2023, reflecting an 11-percent growth in the model’s sales worldwide.
The Porsche Taycan is available in the Philippines and is offered in various trims, which include the base Taycan variant, the versatile Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, and the sporty Taycan Turbo S.
“The Taycan is and will remain a success story,” said Porsche Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Board Member for Finance and Information Technology Lutz Meschke.
“We have always clearly exceeded this goal – despite difficult circumstances in the supply chain and sales regions, where development in terms of e-mobility can vary significantly,” he added.
According to the German carmaker, Porsche expected to sell 20,000 cars per year when the Taycan was launched in 2019. Fast forward to today, the company is exceeding its target for the battery-electric saloon and shooting brake.
In addition to selling more Porsche Taycans than expected, the Stuttgart-headquartered carmaker also shared that the Porsche Group (Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Škoda, Seat, Cupra, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, and Ducati) has increased its vehicle deliveries in the first nine months of 2023.
In total, the conglomerate handed over 242,722 vehicles from January to September of this year. Compared to the same time period last year (221,512), the growth in Porsche Group’s overall deliveries is said to have increased by 9.6 percent.
As a result, Porsche Group’s sales revenue increased by €30.13 billion (P1.809 trillion) from January to September of 2023. Compared to the consortium’s performance for the same time period last year (€26.75 billion or approximately P1.606 trillion), the growth is said to be at 12.6 percent.
“Across all model lines, our vehicles are in high demand worldwide. At the same time, exclusivity and individualization of our products are steadily increasing,” commented Porsche Chairman of the Executive Board Oliver Blume.
“We benefit from a robust positioning in key global regions. We have seen above-average growth in Europe, North America as well as in the ‘Overseas and Emerging Markets’ region,” he added.
