Porsche AG Board Member for Sales and Marketing Detlev von Platen noted that the firm benefited from Porsche’s very balanced position in its largest sales regions in 2023.
“We will continue to optimize this harmonious market distribution,” the Porsche AG executive was quoted as saying.
Further, he shared that the Porsche is set to focus “more than ever on value-oriented growth and a stable sales level.” “We’re laying the groundwork for the future and are updating four out of six model series. That’s more product launches than ever before in a single year,” von Platen added.
The firm claimed that the demand for its vehicles in 2023 came from emerging markets such as Southeast Asia. The sales performance in the said region, Porsche stated, outperformed growth rates in established areas and continued the marque’s upward trajectory.
In 2023, Porsche turned over 52,220 sports cars to clients in emerging markets — showing a 16-percent spike.
Porsche sales in Europe grew by 11 percent while in North America, nine percent. Meanwhile, the company’s retail output went down by 15 percent.
The Porsche model with the biggest demand last year was the 911 — posting a 24-percent rise last year compared to 2022 — handing over 50,146 units to buyers around the globe.
Providing additional jolt in global sales figures is the fully-electric Porsche Taycan sold 40,629 units in 2023 — reflecting a 17-percent increase as against the same period the prior year.
Further, the Porsche 718 (Boxster and Cayman) models posted a 13-percent growth with 20,518 units sold.
Porsche Cayenne and Macan sport utility vehicle models added 87,553 and 87,355 units respectively to the brand’s 2023 sales data while 34,020 Panamera units were handed over to customers last year.
