Prices for Beepcard to go up
That Beepcard you're using when taking North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) will be subject price increase too.
This as the Department of Transportation (DoTr) announced that they will soon implement the price increase on the Stored Value Ticket to Php30.
Based on an announcement Thursday at the Light Rail Transit 2 Facebook page, stored value tickets will be sold at the said pricing, plus the initial load.
According to the agreement cited, the price change shall commence January 1, 2020.
Aside from the abovementioned tollways, the stored value tickets are also being used to pay for train fares in the LRT1, MRT and LRT2 lines as well payment options.
However, beep card, in a separate Facebook post, said that expired beepcards can be renewed, but with a P10 renewal fee.
Those who wish to renew its expired stored value ticket at the train stations may do so at the following locations:
LRT 1 stations - Roosevelt, Monumento Northbound, Doroteo Jose Southbound, Central, EDSA, Baclaran - at MRT 3 station (Cubao).
They also clarified beep™ Express Renewal terminal shall only honor cards which have expired 30 days after or are set to expire 30 days before the expiry date indicated in the card.
