Mini’s 3-door, 5-door, and Clubman trims will now feature new roof paint options that can be had as an add-on, says the mini-car maker.
Dubbed the Multitone Roof, the new colorway takes Mini personalization to a whole new level.
The visual highlight of the new roof paint is the flowing gradient between three unique color tones. According to Mini, the three colors are San Marino Blue, Pearly Aqua, and Jet Black. These colors gently transition from one to the other, creating a unique aesthetic easily recognizable in conjunction with the optional panoramic glass roof as well as optional roof rails.
Achieving the new color involved the use of an innovative wet-on-wet painting process at the Mini plant in Oxford, UK. Pearly Aqua is applied first followed by San Marino Blue and Jet Black. This innovative process has been fully integrated into the automated production process says the British automotive marque.
The Multitone Roof can be combined with all exterior colors, with the exception of the Chili Red uni and British Racing Green metallic variants as well as the Indian Summer Red metallic available for the MINI Clubman.
