Ram Trucks Philippines looks to shake things up in the local truck segment as it introduces the new Ram 1500 Rebel.
Outside, the larger-than-life pickup truck offers stylish and functional features. It boasts an abundance of blacked-out trims all over the exterior including the daylight opening moldings, exterior mirrors, headlamp bezels, premium power mirrors, rear bumper, exhaust pipes, tubular side steps, and its 18-inch mid-gloss black wheels.
In fact, the scores of black accents are among of the two things that separate the new 1500 Rebel and the 1500 Laramie — exterior-wise, that is. The other is the two-tone finish and the black body graphics around the truck.
Other features fitted on the 1500 Rebel’s exterior lean towards function and utility such as the class-exclusive RamBox storage system which allows owners to store equipment and essentials on a compartment just above the rear fenders of the Rebel.
There’s also a huge bed at the rear with an exterior outlet for any equipment you might need to plug in and a divider for organizing your gear.
Supporting the full-size pickup truck are Bilstein Performance-tuned shock absorbers paired with anti-lock four-wheel FNC disc brakes.
Inside, the 1500 Rebel offers a spacious interior with similar functional features like the seven-inch instrument cluster, the steering wheel with integrated controls, and the 12-inch infotainment system. It does come with typical connectivity features like Aux, USB, Bluetooth, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. However, the large touchscreen display works best with navigation as it allows you to conveniently see the lay of the land.
That said, the 1500 Rebel is equipped with safety and convenience features to help you tackle any terrain like the electronic range select, electronic roll mitigation, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, and traction control.
At the core of this beast is a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI MDS VVT engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain setup allows the 1500 Rebel to achieve a maximum power output of 395hp and 555Nm of torque.
The Ram 1500 Rebel will set you back P4,090,000.
