The vehicles will be charged using the organization's on-site station.Per the storied British car brand, the partnership brings together the oldest tennis tournament in the world, and the world’s foremost luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) brand.
“As an iconic British cultural event watched by millions across the world, The Championships provides the ideal opportunity for Range Rover to engage with our global clients with creative storytelling, that perfectly captures the elegance and refinement of our vehicles and the synergies between our two modern luxury brands,” Range Rover Managing Director Geraldine Ingham noted.
Thanks to the partnership Range Rover will lend to the tennis series the latest models from its stable — including plug-in electric hybrid models. They will be used to transport players, their teams, and officials to and from official venues throughout The Championships.
Vehicles will take advantage of the on-site charging facility at the organization’s Indoor Tennis Center. It is powered by renewable electricity and is capable of accommodating the increasing numbers of hybrid and electric vehicles as progress continues towards the All England Club’s 2030 net zero operational emissions target.
“We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing partnership with JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) with the announcement of Range Rover as Official Vehicle Partner. I am particularly pleased with the inclusion of a significant number of lower-emission plug-in hybrid vehicles in the fleet, with a focus on as many journeys as possible being delivered in EV (electric vehicle) mode. This is another step towards our goal of achieving net zero operational emissions by 2030,” All England Club Chair Deborah Jevans CBE (Commander of the British Empire) commented.
