Red Dot Awards Name Hyundai as 2018 Brand of the Year
Hyundai has another reason to celebrate as Red Dot Awards named the Korean automaker as the 2018 Brand of the Year.
This award adds to Hyundai's accolades this year for its creative and innovative design. The Red Dot Award is one of the respected international design competitions in the world. The Brand of the Year Award is given to a brand that has shown innovative and creative design. As such, Red Dot recognized Hyundai's innovative design solutions, quality of design, and brand management.
"It is an honor to be selected as the Red Dot: Brand of the Year 2018. We are humbled to receive such an accolade, as this award is a validation that we are on the right track and it is an impressive milestone for our brand image," said Hyundai Motor Company Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Wonhong Cho.
Cho added that the said award will serve as an inspiration for the brand to push further into developing innovative designs. It will also serve as Hyundai's "stepping stone" for more creative projects to make the brand "truly be loved by all."
Last August, Hyundai won several Red Dot Awards for its Solati Moving Hotel, Hyundai Pavilion, Genesis Gangnam, Genesis Sound Design, Pioneer Film and Safety Hologram in their respective categories. The Korean automaker was also recognized for its work on Retail Design, Sound Design, Spatial Communication, Film & Animation and Interface & User Experience Design.
Aside from Red Dot, Hyundai is also included among the top global brands in Interbrand 2018. Interbrand is a brand consultancy that specializes in brand strategy, brand analytics, brand valuation, among others. Hyundai is ranked 36th overall among the global brands while it is ranked 6th among the top 10 automotive brands.
